I think it's a great addition for the contests on this site.

The only drawing contest I see are hand-drawn ones.

For people like me, I prefer to use Tablet Drawing. It opens up a lot more options that one can't do on paper.

I'm sure there are plenty of talented NB members that use tablets as well.

I wish I could submit those works on the contest, but again it is hand-drawn only.

Honestly, I've asked Caliburn about this and he never responded to me

If the idea itself isn't "unique" enough, then just allow us to submit art of all media to the "Art of the Month" contest instead of it just being drawn on paper.

A solution to plagiarized work is submitting multiple copies of the drawing process.

So you would have the unfinished version, a nearly finished version, and a final version just to prove that you've made it yourself.

I think I see what you are suggesting. Its like digital art drawing. Not like using photoshop but other programs. It would help if you could give us an example if you don't mind. If it is what I am thinking, it sounds like a good idea.

It is using photoshop.

Some people like to draw on paper and then color it on photoshop.

I like to draw and color all in photoshop.

The hand-drawn Art of the Month contest explicitly stated that you could only clean up drawings in Photoshop, but you're not allowed to draw or color in the program.

I'd like a contest much like the Hand-Drawn one, where you can submit any sort of drawing, but also being allowed to use programs such as Photoshop to create and color in their pieces.

here is an example of a drawing I've made only in photoshop using a drawing tablet. I'm not allowed to submit this work or most of my artwork in the Art of the Month because of the rules.

Its more or less the same like Sotw. I really dont think any such additional contest would be organised. And Manga coloring contest is also there. And since what you are suggesting uses Photoshop only . Then i think the present contests are enough for that. Still you can confirm it with an Admin if you want. Ideas like that have been dropped in the past also cuz of their similarity with the existing contests..
And i dont think the staff is willing to organise another pain in the ass contest when there are already so many contests going on. But a more different and unique idea would be appreciated :)

It'll then cause more and huge no. rip-off occasions, cuz there are numerous pics. like those over the net and even if not then the same thing like manga coloring will happen, people will color it, and submit it as digital art. I liked the idea though but these are the outcomes which can happen, think about it :hint:

A nice idea but the problem is many people copy them :/

Well, in my opinion, I prefer hand drawings as they add more like realistic thing...
You can copy any form of art or find it online.

It's not hard finding a scan of a portrait or hand-drawn paper works. Yet we still have hand-drawn contests for Art of the Month.

The thing with the Manga Coloring Contest is that there would be no freedom to create original pieces, but coloring in someone elses work, which is something I don't really care for.

If it's not a "unique" enough idea, why can't they just allow all forms of art in the Art of the Month Contest instead of it being only hand-drawn on paper? Just merge the two ideas into one.

A solution to plagiarized work is submitting multiple copies of the drawing process.

So you would have the unfinished version, a nearly finished version, and a final version just to prove that you've made it yourself.

You can copy hand-drawn work to. Countless scans of them in the internet.

Like I said, the solution would be submitting multiple showings of the drawing process, so that way you can prove that you've made it yourself.
