You compared it with the bell test which means you think it's the same thing as training. Naruto was just trying to catch Bolt, while Bolt was the one goofing around. Naruto thought he had Bolt at first, but it turned out to be a shadow clone and then Naruto wanted to end it with multi-shadow clones, but Sai told him he was being petty, so he thought that he shouldn't get serious against a kid.

I compared it with Naruto's abilities, but even the Bell Test itself is not training - It was more of a lesson on character. That's exactly what I was going for mate, except pulling on the child's future for being what he was told since the latest update.

Yeah and like I said Naruto let Boruto hit him so that he could catch him, but it turned out to be a shadow clone and the real one was hiding. Naruto wasn't trying to teach him anything, so the stuff Kakashi was doing wasn't necessary. It was simply just try to catch Boruto. The clone might have been the first thing Naruto saw when he tried to find Boruto.

Yeah that's the only thing he outsmarted him in, was tricking the trickster himself. I hope Boruto can apply applications to his KB in the way of receiving knowledge on it, rather than not knowing this until three years later XD

If Naruto did not have the Kyuubi boosting his power, he would not have been considered a shinobi. Most of his abilities relied on the shadow clone early in the manga.

naruto has 4times the chakra of a jonin as a kid without the kyuubi.
