Difference between obito and the sage?

Can someone explain the difference between those 2?
As far as i saw it from now even the looks are close to eachother, the chakra staff, horms, the cloak and a jin of the juubi. I don't know much about the power of the sage but since obito also has a rinnegan he should be about as strong as the sage. Still it seems he has a bit of trouble crushing the alliance so far.
While the sage was auperiour to anything even the juubi?

Defeat? Or just hide away a problem? He was a monk with a good pair of fuinjutsu, so it wasn't really needed to fight his as off and only needed to seal it away fast and seperate it's power so he won't be a trouble maker

I think people tend to forget that, if they want to understand the sage's power look at it this way the whole shinobi alliance + oro's crew were having a hard time against the juubi , madara( tbh he did nothing serious besides cutting kages) and obito and thats an incomplete juubi on top of that ...but the sage raped it and sealed it inside himself and he died old ( made the moon and split the juubi while dying) to compare juubito and so6p is bad tbh since the sage is probably still way stronger or stronger by a definite.

Well.. he was able to beat FULL powered10tails a$$ _alone_ and seal it. Creation of all things. + knows pretty much all techniques.. + has sh1tload of experience about pretty much anything.. war/peace/techniques/rinnegan,sharingan (normally).. Obito is closest one to sage.. but still a rip off..

He was the first shinobi who had knowledge about chakra, but where did he get that massive chakra reserve from?
When he sealed it and seperate the juubi, i bet he took a bit chakra of the juubi.
And from that time you can fill the rest of the story by yourself, so the juubi's chakra was kind of the cause for his own fall?

he was not a shinobi, he was a monk.

and to seal something like a full complete juubi he would already have alot of chakra needed to do it...and on top of that he had enough power to fight 1 on 1 with the juubi before sealing it and weakening it.

Obito is the bootleg version of Sage. o_ o.. Obito looks all deformed with 10 tails while Sage could maintain a solid appearance with the 10 Tails in prime. Sage:God. Obito: Bootleg Jesus at the most. :I

It's a good thread and theory indeed i agree mostly but 1, it lacks information about the sage before he was a jin, but that wasn't given by the manga so it is just a speculation

Besides that after reading the scans it was never told that he has defeated the juubi only that he sealed it away and protected the earth from terror!

Its simple really...just be seeing how strong madara and hashirama are we can estimate the SO6P strength. Both of them are from a diluted bloodline that goes all the way back to the sage. The sage had both uchiha and senju DNA but in a stronger essence which means his life force, chakra reserves and chakra strength must have been through the roof U_U
