I feel like KA is severely underestimated at times so I just want to do my part in helping reaffirm just how powerful this particular visual genjutsu is.
On the surface, KA comes across as just a mind control jutsu. However there are some slight differences:
Regular genjutsu that controls people, let's say like that one Obito put the 4th mizukage under, requires both the user and subject to constantly be in sync together all the time. In other words, genjutsu of this caliber is more of a mind control. A hypnosis really. It's an illusion.
KA however, is a one time activated genjutsu that doesn't hypnotize a person.... It completely gives them a new way of thinking and feeling in accordance with the user wishes. In other words, it doesn't control you like some virus controlling a host, it completely changes the host into something else. There is no illusion, it's a new reality.
If KA could be activated on a global scale it'll be more powerful than IT. IT puts u in a dream state while KA gives you a new reality.
THE ONLY REASON WHY KA CAN BE DISPELLED IS BECAUSE THE BEW REALITY ISNT THE SAME REALITY AS EVERYONE ELSES. If there are 8 people in a room, and 4 of them are under Koto then the 4 who aren't will never be able to convince the Koto 4 which reality is the right reality.
Koto overwrote Edo tensei. That means Itachis reality which was to kill was changed to protect. No genjutsu can do that.
