I think he was just having one of his loony moments when he said that.

I would say the major advantage of EMS over MS is the fact the lack of blindness allows you to train, modify and develop MS techniques. At the same time you will also be training to be more efficient at using the jutus's and thus said jutsu's will be less chakra taxing. I think thats why they are less straining when current susake uses his techniques. But i could be wrong

besides blindness the ms is your eye and its pattern & ems is implanted eyes and a new pattern. i know i stated the obvious but hey

There is a difference. With the EMS the user experiences less chakra drain from using susanoo and Tsukuyomi.

I can't remember where I read it, but EMS was supposed to give the user a new and unique jutsu. Not sure if true thought.

Sheesh really...... when Itachis MS eyes were implanted did Sasuke get MS only? No ... he got a totally new dojutsu THAT is Eternal Mangekyo Shsaringan... that the new thing.
Also the chakra drainage theory is not proven as in the Danzo fight Sasuke put up quite a show with Susanoo while in the Kabuto fight he didnt use it like in the Danzo fight. So we cant be sure if the effects are merely immunity from blindness and a power boost.
