Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique
Known users: Nagato
Reason for using: After Naruto talked him into believing his own dream for peace, that Jiraiya had left him, he used it to bring life into all those that were killed during his invasion on Konoha.
Pros for the user: None I could think of, other than the knowing that you made an insurmountable of people happy.
Pros for the subjects: Revived with free will.
Cons for the user: Uses a large amount of chakra; dependent upon how many subjects there are.
Cons for the subjects: Wanted to die a hero, but instead gets revived to carry on. (+ rep if you know what movie this is a reference to, just replace revived with saved)

Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation
Known users: Tobirama Senju, Orochimaru, Kabuto Yakushi
Reasons for using: Tobirama created this technique, and used it enough for people to recognize as his own tech, though he never mastered it. Orochimaru used this technique to reincarnate Tobirama and Hashirama to fight Hiruzen during his invasion of Konoha, said to master it. Kabuto Yakushi used this technique to reincarnate many of the deceased jins, the seven ninja swordsmen of the mist, deceased akatsuki, and many others, said to master it greater than Orochimaru ever did.
Pros for the user: If killed, Edo Tensei still carries on
-User can control each edo from a distance.
-If injured, the edo automatically regenerates.
-They cannot be killed, they can only be sealed.
-Every edo has infinite chakra reserves.
-Every edo can use all of its own techniques.
-Can be 'programmed' with set instructions.
Pros for the reincarnated: Sometimes can be left with a little bit of free will/personality. If they want to destroy the shinobi world, then they'll be extremely happy, due to being unstoppable.
Cons for the user: If he gives them a bit of free will/personality they can possibly find closure and be released from the jutsu.(Sasori) A powerful genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami, can cause Kabuto to release the jutsu, although this happened quite on accident and can only by done with Shisui's eye(s).(Itachi) If two or more edos are teamed up, they can become careless and use techniques that can make the other edo open to be sealed.
Cons for the reincarnated: Can be completely taken over. If they have a bit of their personality, but are still being controlled, and kill somebody close to them, i.e. a sibling, a student, etc. would give them deep emotional pain.
To sum it up apart from the details, Rinne Tensei is the best thing for the subjects(All the people resurrected from Nagato's Rinne Tensei) and Edo Tensei is the best thing for the user.(Kabuto and his edo army)
