Orochimaru is still a mystery, but Kabuto was already resolved. He went back to Konoha and was pardoned obviously (if Sasuke can be forgiven, Kabuto can too for his lesser crimes.)

I personally believe it was a great ending although I believed there will be more deaths or rather much griefs at the end

@bold- No they won't. Part 3 is being done by Kishimoto's assistant and is centered on the kids when they're older. Orochimaru will be dead by the time that comes around, plus Kabuto left him so no one is around to revive him. Lol

It lacked a conclusion to the main ideas of Naruto. War and Peace? Love and hate? They didn't resolve any of this, Sasuke just said he was sorry and him and Naruto made no efforts to discuss the future, a compromising philosophy, a new government, or anything.

The ending would've hit people like a freight train had Kishi fleshed ANY of this ending out.

So yea, it wasn't that good. Pretty standard ending for an action manga, but Naruto held it's audience with more than just simple action. I think Kishi forgot that in these last chapters.

I enjoyed the ending though I feel like a detailed and private conversation between Sasuke and Kakashi should have been nice. I think while it was one thing for Sasuke to simply say "sorry" to Sakura, a personal conversation between the former mentor and teacher both reflecting and discussing the past years would have been nice

I don't believe it was a rumor. However, I've read that he wants to be somewhat involved with the part 3 (possibly help supervise it), so that may be it. I guess we won't know for sure until it is released next year in the spring.

-No closure for several character like Orochimaru and Kabuto.
-Sasuke didn't revive the people who's deaths he caused directly or indirectly. So he didn't redeemed in my eyes.

Pretty much this.

I expected the last chapters to be longer than usual, to fit in the extra content. I would have been pleased with getting 1 chapter this week and 1 chapter next week if it meant they were expanded on more. Everyone's saying it felt rushed, and I agree.

It seem that Kishi released both chapters 699 & 700 were last minute rush.
Both are consider as last & ending.

Chap 699
Kakashi finally was the 6th Hokage for one important issue.
He vouch for Sasuke, as he told Sasuke to behave himself.
All the Kages had to step down (exclude Gaara), for the next generation.
In this way, Sasuke had part of his revolution task done, "Kill all the Kages"

Chap 700
All the children are nearly full grown.
Naruto finally sit on the Hokage chair.

Kishi had completed his theme.
"The Will of Fire" have pass down to the next generation...

I hated it especially since I wanted Naruto and Sasuke to be de-powered to how they were before sage power up. It levels the playing field so other characters can be in their league and I wish Naruto and Sasuke traveled the world together before Naruto becoming Hokage and Sasuke his right hand man. I also wish there were no pairings and all the lose ends were tied up. It would be cool to for orichimaru to be the villian again. I wish there was more villains who did not want peace but destruction as badass as Madara and Orichamaru so that Naruto and Sasuke could work together like they did in part 1 which was beast.

This would have been a much better ending than what we got! So many people have said this and I will repeat it! Anyone could have come up with a better ending for Naruto than chapters 699 and 700 in their sleep! That's how piss poor the final two chapters of Naruto were! Hopefully we will get an alternate ending from the new author of the Naruto franchise, Kishi's assistant. Other manga's have pulled this off, future diary and hellsing so I do not see why naruto couldn't.

Even Dragon Ball Z is doing the same thing only that franchise is taking it a step further. Rather than an alternate ending, through the new movies, Akira is throwing the original ending of his manga, which led into GT and DBGT itself out the window entirely. So there you have that!
