Didn't really have much of one. Many of the mythology characters or Uchiha are quite bland to me with the edge illusion of being more complex than they actually are.

Yeah, he's just misunderstood. Indra was angry, because not only did his father take away his birthright, but had always showed a lot of favoritism towards Ashura. Hagoromo have all his attention to his younger brother, who believed that the power of Fairy Tail friendship was the key to true peace. And knowing the long term effects of a parent showing favoritism is quite known. It can seriously mess things up.

Then suddenly, after giving Ashura all the power, Hagoromo actually thought Indra was going to obey like a good dog? Hagoromo is one of the most retarded characters I have ever seen. He got exposed at the end for how stupid he was. And on top of that, he was also exposed as a terrible father.
