What you should have asked before "has everyone forgot about Neji?" is "who appreciates drawn characters as real people, and who treats them as only fictional things drawn in a piece of paper?"

Of course, many people would laugh at me and judge me for saying I belong to the first group... But I'm proud of that. I have nor forgotten about Neji, but that doesn't mean I haven't moved on. He died for a greater good, a honorable death, a warrior's death, and he will live inside people's hearts as a hero. The good thing drawn characters and real people have in common is that once dead, there is always the chance to have them alive inside your own heart. That's why I never forgot Itachi, Jiraiya, Minato, Kushina, Hiruzen, Haku or Asuma...

None of the Naruto characters that have died have been forgotten.

edit: in case you forgot Madara has also butchered the kages and up until now we 'hope' (don't know) that Tsunade had the time and the chakra to save them

I think Neji had an epic death though it would have been more epic if Hinata wasn't there because now Neji saved only a main supporter character and not the main character himself

well Minato and Hiruzen are actually back but Hiruzen is already being retconned/humiliated by Kishi so death is obviously not the worst thing that can happen to you in Naruto...
