[Question] Did Whitebeard and Co. have any chance?

Did Whitebeard and his allies have any chance of beating the Navy? If so, what could they have done differently? Of course they had to lose because of plot, but let's disregard that fact.

Course they did but the reason they lost was because Whitebeard was sick and had to die at some point, so the new era can start & Imagine if Whitebeards crew won, they would have become "justice" and for the story Oda obviously can't let that happen.

sadly no even doflamingo was easily beating jozu which was one of whitebeard's best men and I think if the impel down escapees didn't come they wouldn't have even freed ace

Yeah, I agree with you. Mihawk, Doflamingo, Akainu, and Aokiji were probably enough. And what do you mean "as well"? I didn't care much for the Whitebeard Pirates except for Ace and Marco.

Ok, think about this. The Yonko, Shichibukai, and the Marines are considered equal.

Let's assume that these three factions add up to 100% power in the One Piece world, making each faction 33% power.

Now, it took just one of the Yonko (so 33/4 = 8.25%) to take on the Marines+Shichibukai (33x2= 66%)

Assuming this, it means that 8.25% of the overall power in One Piece was able to stand on equal footing with 66% of the power.

I'm willing to bet that Whitebeard's crew (the 8.25%) wasn't at full power either (distrust, Squard's temporary betrayal, WB being sick and nerfed, and Ace not participating in the battle), meaning that their overall battle power was nerfed too.

And look what happened to Marineford. If WB could do this much damage imagine what the other Yonko are even capable of.

No wonder Sengoku decided to end the war when Shanks arrived...

And you all forget that sengoku didnt joined the fight. His beam wouldve done a lot more damage.

I don't think so, it was stated that Shanks losing his arm "didn't weaken him in any way". Also, I don't think (hope) Shanks has a Devil Fruit.

Nah i don't think they could, Sengoku and Garp barely fought, if those 2 had ganged up on whitebeard from the beginning, the war would end quicker imo, and also the shischibukai barely lift a finger, hell Boa was kicking the marines too, Mihawk fought Vista while concentrating on Luffy, DD could've ended Jozu. Imo Whitebeard didn't have many chances.
