I confess I never believed that he was obito. But now it seems madara was the one who gave rinnegan to nagato and then he found obito and implanted him zetsu's cell and probably f**** up obito's mind to find a reason to hate all konoha, teached him how to awaken MS and some history lesson about sage of six paths foundation of all villages). Then madara probably told him to assume his identity. And I am still not sure when madara had died. Cuz the one who had fought 4th hokage was to be obito.(which I can't still understand since he was only between 12-15 years old). My guess he had chosen to die after the third ninja war to be revived later.

This is a shot in the dark, but here we go.

It is obviously obito's body and his sharnigan in his right eye that should have been crushed by the rocks. When all the other rocks started to fall down,if obitos kamui activated he may have escaped with his life.

I hope somehow orochimaru is tied into obito surviving also as well

Okay, I will probably never beliebe Tobi is Obito, even if Kishi walken in my room, slapped me and yelled "TOBI IS OBITO YOU IDIOT!"
I mean, if Obito and Kakashi are the same age, it couldn't have been Obito who attacked Konoha with the Kyuubi, because that was definately an adult man and Obito was about 14 years old. Plus, Kurama said these were Madaras eyes.
And, what about Tobi's face? I can be wrong, but we have seen both halfs of his face (When he began showing it to Sasuke and when he fought with Konan), and it had wrinkles all over it. But now, only half of his face is wrinkled.
And Rin, as an Iryonin, should have noticed that Obito would survive being crashed by the rocks, shouldn't she?
Maybe Tobi can change his body or something? He could have stolen Obito's body from that cave, and now use it.

Lol I just feel bad for the people who spent so much time and effort in publishing their threads about "who tobi really is" and "why tobi has the moon's eye plan" and whatnot. I don't think I attacked any of the "Tobi=Obito" believers, but if i did pm and i will +rep you with an apology, still i don't think i did so it will take more than "you were mean" etc to convince me. I guess I'll go to narutopedia to see if they switched all of the "Tobi" on tobi's page with "Obito".

I just realized we're all frantically panicking about the prospect of Tobi turning out to be the most anti-climatic choice of identity, Obito. But what struck me is that we're all accepting that Tobi is Obito without a direct confession, without any sort of substantial proof but simply his mask being removed and a flashback which most likely came from Kakashi.

This chapter revealed almost nothing about who Tobi is, yes he has a resemblance to Obito but couldn't that be explained by Tobi being a relative of Obito e.g. Obito's Dad/Kagami Uchiha

Izuna Theorists are also still in the game, with Obito's body simply being the shell which holds his consciousness.

I'm not denial about Tobi being Obito but at the same time i will not blindly accept something without any form of substantial evidence.

It's Obito's body with a mix of Zetsu. Since we really don't know much about Zetsu's history. Tobi might have the ability to shapeshift his face/ entire body which is why when he showed his face to Kisame, he was convinced it was Madara. We do know that he does have that Obito personality like when he was teamed up with Deidara. It's also probable that their maybe multiple personalities trying to take control. With one dominant one losing control at times.

as far as i am concerned, its no shape shifting, someone else was under that mask before obito went under, thats all, it still seems impossible that obito could have fought and if he did put up such a good fight against the 4th while controlling kyuubi at the then young age he would have been at, not to mention that he was completely oblivious to the speed and some of the abilities of the 4th, which obito should not have been since the 4th was his teacher. My opinion is that madara rescued tobi from under the rocks and saved his life then made him his apprentice, because itachi did mention that it was madara that he met with to take out the uchihas, and if yall are gonna tell me that obito was smart enough to pull the wool over itachi's eyes after all the we saw itachi planed ahead for, then you people must be crazy. Also to be noted, madaras words during the kage fight when he was speaking to kabuto through muu, he said and i quote "DOES HE ALSO KNOW ABOUT OUR PLAN", THATS WHAT MADARA ASKED HIMSELF WHEN TALKING TO KABUTO, tell me if i am wrong, but there is no way , no explanation that can come about to make me believe that obito fought the 4th hokage while controlling kyuubi and put up such a good fight, absolutely non,
