Did Itachi and Madara know that they were going to come back alive?

Because if Itachi didn't know he was going to come back to life he probably wouldn't of put the crow inside naruto, but my guess is that Itachi knew about Edo-Tensei (most likely) and knew that Kabuto was going to resurrect him for the war.

I'm not too sure on Madara though, I know he knew about Edo-Tensei, but did he know that someone would resurrect him for a purpose? E.g. Did he know that Obito was going start a war? Did he know that Obito was going to get where he is now? and also wouldn't Hashirama know that someone would use Edo-Tensei for evil?

He should of sealed himself and Madara before they died.

Madara knew he was going too. That's why he said he was shocked to be Resurrected in this state.

Itachi prepared the crow with Shisui's eye for Sasuke. am not sure he knew he would be resurrected.
as for Madara, he knew about his resurrection but not through edo tensei.

Not necessarily. That crow was supposed to react for Sasuke's sharingan.

Itachi probably didn't 'know' he was going to get revived. But he probably considered the possiblity of it happening.
