Did the manga reveal how Hagoromo gained the Rinnegan?

Looking at these pictures, it's clear that Hagoromo had the Rinnegan before he sealed Kaguya and became the Jin for the 10 tails. The 10 Tails being the source for the Rinne-Sharingan and Mokuton KKG.

Did Hagoromo just inherit these traits from his mother genetically, or do you think he awakened them somehow? You look at Hamura and you see he's a traditional Otsutsuki, with Bykaugan. This despite being twins with Hagoromo.

According to Kaguya's backstory in the Anime, he awoken it when he killed Hamura, the Manga never went into details as to how he got the Rinnegan, for, I am inclined to believe what went down in the Anime was approved by Kishi.

At the very least, Kaguya ate the fruit before actually giving birth to him, the manga implies that in addition to the anime having that adaption. Since she awakened the Sharinnegan before he was born, he likely received the genetic signature for a mutated form of that eye from his mother, not from becoming the Juubi jin.

His DNA was genetically altered by the Holy Tree's chakra during his birth. He probably unlocked it later on in life since if Obito couldn't handle the Rinnegan's power, I doubt a child could.

He was born with it. I think Otsutsuki DNA has genes for both Rinnegan and Byakugan. And the Hyuga's have not yet acheived the full potential of the byakugan.

No it didn't go into detail about how he awakened it but he doesn't need the tree for it. We were told enough to know it's in his genes. We've seen other Otsutsuki members with the Rinnegan, and Kaguya already had the sharinnegan components to it. So it's safe to say the Rinnegan has more to do with his lineage than anything else.

Off Topic: I have a little theory of my own. I don't think the sharinnegan comes from the tree like we originally thought. Everyone assumed that because the tree was the first thing we saw with it, but that was before we knew Kaguya merged with the tree. Much like Momoshiki and his Rinnegan in his palms, Kaguya likely either had the Rinnegan already or at least the genes for it. The tree might have given her the "sharingan" portion of her powers though, and mixed with her Rinnegan to make sharinnegan, which explains her using the tree's power for tsukuyomi

Way back during the churning exam in the Manga Kakashi said that the Sharigan came from the Byakugan and now we see that Kaguya has the Byakugan and so dose Hamura and that Haguromo eyes change due to His Girlfriend death to the Sharigan for He has the Byakugan gene in Him from Kaguya along with the Human eye genes of His Human Father.

because they were added later on.. in other words, retcon.

As for Kaguya's 6 paths.. I don't think she learned senjutsu as she merely just ate the fruit.

Like she has them but she never did learn how to properly use em.

Even her sharinnegan, she only used to cast IT.

and her truth seeking orbs? we saw none of them.

We could speculate that BZ is her truth seeking orb merged into 1 and becoming sentient but it may be a bit far fetched.
