Did the databook make the anime cannon?

There’s a lot of jutsu that was used in the anime that was considered filler. Now the databook have all these different characters with all of these different elements stating they have the ability to use... like Kakashi using in Katon in the anime and that was considered filler for the longest, now it’s not correct?

That's not what it means, I've taken it to mean the characters have access to these changes in chakra natures, nor necessarily jutsu.

Sakura is a genjutsu type.
Kakashi is a Katon user.

Nah. Instead of the databooks being used to back the anime, they're probably just stating whatever material Kishi gave the anime to work with. We'd never seen Konohamaru use wind style in the manga or anime at the point Databook 4 was released, but his databook page stated it regardless. So all the justus they've displayed aren't necessarily canon.

I see; Pretty much it just means that they (the characters) can use that chakra nature, however it doesn’t make the anime filler feats of said characters canon.
