Should villains be redeemed? Should Sasuke have turned good? Can he even be redeemed? What about Pain or Obito? does it hurt the story if Kishi makes Naruto turn them from the dark? I guess my question is can they even MAKE UP for it? I mean Sasuke arguably helped revive the juubi by taking the tentacle but it stands to reason that Obito would have done well withou his support Kisame would have been more than enough to get a mere tentacle but at the same time it doesn't negate the fact that because of him the War intensified. I guess my question should be if people legit try hard to change can even terrorist, murderers, thiefs, rapists etc can we forgive them if they actually tryed to make the world a better place?

No it doesn't. The whole story is centered around finding peace.

Hell no! First point, you can't compare a work of fiction to real life problems. You ever heard the expression, you made your bed now you've got to lie in it. Well, if you kill thousands of people and then all of a sudden, you get a change of heart, too bad, you're still going to prison and hopefully getting the death penalty.

Obito should never be forgiven. He was responsible for literally just about every obstacle/bad event that we've seen in the main story since part 1 began.

Sasuke should also never be forgiven. He went rouge and attacked the 5 Kage, aided Akatsuki and became an international criminal.

But alas, the power of friendship prevails and all is right with the world again. Yes, redemption is ONE of the factors that has dragged this story downhill lately, but it hasn't killed it.

Than what SHOULD the story have done? A typical the wicked shall be punished?

That dumbass should be dead. He should be a hunted criminal. Just because I am a Sasuke fan, It doesn't mean that I can't be reasonable and rational.

obito wasnt exactly forgiven, nor nagato. but if they walk the same path together and accept responsibilty, its better than nuthin. they both died knowing they were failures.
and kabuto cant go unpunished... kishi is punishing sasuke enough lol.

True, logic and justice DOES demand his death, not disagreeing just playing devils advocate but then what about the good he could do? Doesnt his new path out weigh his past sins?

Not really,it's just that some characters should'nt be redeemable in my opinion.Obito,Madara,Orochimaru,Kabuto, and many others have done some messed up shit that no sane person would forgive no matter what they did.

You're telling me you are on board with Obito:
*Attempting to destroy his village
*Attempting to kill his teacher/hokage
*Letting lose the Kyuubi on his own village, and being indirectly responsible for the death of his teacher and his teacher's wife
*Killed/manipulated the Mizukage
*Started an organization of terrorists
*Teamed up with a mad man [Kabuto]
*Started a war against the entire shinobi world
*Attempted to capture the only two remaining Jinchuriki so that he could enslave the entire world
*Resurrected the Ten Tails
*Became the Ten Tails Jinchuriki and attempted to kill everyone [again]

All of that and you're fine with Obito being forgiven without a worry in the world? A world where people are hunted down for doing something as trivial as running away from a village.

nope. Unless, he single-handely defeats Kaguya or saves the entire world by himself. NO. Logically, he should be punished for everything that he did but also rewarded for the good that he has done.

Sasuke should go to jail for his past crimes but there's no way Naruto will let him.

I hate how people are so fixated on characters being extremely evil.. If they become good who cares the story is about naruto trying to acheive peace

Peace does'nt mean letting mass murderers walk away from their crimes with a clean slate, peace does'nt mean anyone expecting those people to be brought to justice is bad or wrong for thinking so.

What kind of peace allows people to literally die and get rewarded in the afterlife after commiting mass genocide, murder, terrorism, and attempting to put the world in a genjutsu against their will?

A peaceful world would want justice for victims, something NV seems to lack.
