. And I am guessing that this could have been around the time that Danzo might have met Obito, then the two of them who both viewed Yahiko as a threat joined forces with Hanzo to kill Yahiko. As Madara had told Obito to befriend Nagato and get him on their side, so he had to eliminate Yahiko to get too Nagato as he knew that with Yahiko gone, it would be easy to gain Nagato's trust and manipulate him into joining Madara and Obito's plan.

Wow smart thinking, I never even thought about this. It would be very like Obito to do such a thing. I think he probably did. Also I think since Orochimaru and Danzo were somewhat allies, Orochimaru may know a bit about this as well.
