A better question would be is: Why the hell did they let Naruto live alone, without supervision when he had the nine tails inside of him after the attack of the 9 tails on the village?
Not to mention that he can easily be kidnapped by someone. It wasn't a secret that he had the nine tails inside of him, all of the adults knew about it.

Also why the hell didn't Obito sneak in and take him as a kid?!?! He easily managed to get to Kushina. Naruto would have been really easy to get as a child for Obito with his transportation jutsu.

yeah this in was sasuke also being paid for by the third like naruto ,or did he inherit everyones money orochimaru should have just kidnap him and brain wash him into his perfect body that he will willingly give up thanks to being brain wash.

My BIGGEST complaint is with the ******* Hiruzen. Sure he paid for Naruto's stuff, but why didn't he have enough respect for the Fourth freaking Hokage to actually take care of his son after he saved the entire village by giving not only his life, but also his wife's....??????

At the very least, Hiruzen should've taken Naruto in and raised him, rather than playing the old 'God of the lazy Child Support Paying Shinobi' role. He shoved Naruto off to the side exactly like he admitted to shoving the Dark matters of Konoha off to Danzo.

Worst worthless Hokage Period, not because of his skills (or lack there of) but because of the decision to allow for the alienation of a child of a deceased colleague and hero of the village. It takes a real crappy person to allow that.

@Bold - Pure fanfiction. The only time that was remotely even hinted at being a similar case, is that filler when Naruto was thrown out of a shop after looking at a fake ANBU mask.

OP: An orphanage, Hiruzen, or ANBU probably looked after him in early years, after that he apparently lived alone, though Hiruzen gave him an allowance, I'm betting that was Minato and Kushina's money though.

Maybe he can't. Cause you know, a certain person named Danzo Shimura ? Maybe Hiruzen was afraid of Danzo taking him as a member of Root, hence using the Nine-Tails for the village's sake. So to be safe, he didn't put Naruto under the care of anyone but himself, discreetly. Or maybe the elders of Konoha (his advisors) didn't let him or anyone take care of him because of possible accidents or they're just an *******. Maybe the latter.
