Did he sense his dad coming or did he have a feeling he was coming because he was not surprised at all that he showed up.

The last time he seen his dad was inside himself and he was all emotional when he seen him.

To think that, that was the last time he was going to see his dad and then he shows up and he is like nothing about it.

That's what I thought because he would need to be in sage mode to sense chakra and lets say being in kuubi mode let him sense chakra he had just run out and was getting healed up and wasn't in that mode anymore.

Lol no... When they were revived and everyone sensed Naruto from the village, Naruto was able to sense them. Or when they set off to join the alliance Naruto sensed the kages exactly when Madara did

there is another way to sense each other by being same jhinchuriki of nine tails i mean minato and naruto.as we saw before naruto sensed another nine tails power inside of sora and silver and gold brothers. now the question is how naruto was confident that its his father, silver and gold brother and sora not? silver and gold brother were sealed but sora is still alive.the ans is beside naruto they were not pure jhinchuriki of nine tails.jst by eating some chakra silver and gold brother and some leaked chakra of nine tails were sealed in sora they all got nine tails power,they were not jhinchuriki but like naruto minato is pure jhinchuriki. and naruto is aware of minato's chakra because they met before. so it was not tough to recognize his father. i think this theory will help u.
