I wanted to make this thread back when Toonami was first announced, but I was busy. Here we are!!

As most of you know, Toonami's back bitches! So please watch it, I miss watching anime on TV. :(

What were your thought on the whole, Naruto killed Toonami rumor?

Here's mine:

Naruto was saving Toonami, but sometimes during the fillers, Naruto Shippuden was being released in Japan(Subs). No one had any reasons to watch the fillers anymore. They started going online to watch anime. Plus, There was no good animes out along with Naruto on Toonami. I believe OP(Dub) wasn't popular in the US.(Not sure that one) Other animes like Bleach, Code Geass was on AS. Naruto along couldn't save Toonami. Ben 10, Star Wars. Toonami started showing american cartoons.

DBZ gave life, Naruto kept it going.

I miss that anime isn't big on TV anymore. VH1 had their anime, Sci-Fi(SyFy) had their anime, CW Saturday morning anime, and Cartoon Network.

Edit: Do you think Toonami should air Naruto Shippuden?

IMO, No! Reason, All the hardcore Naruto fans are already up to date on the manga and anime. The question is, Would they rewatch Naruto Shippuden?

Not Naruto, more of the internet and online streaming killing Toonami and Anime on Tv, that would be more accurate.

The internet being more available was the reason for Toonami shutting down.

There was a rumor that Naruto killed Toonami. Toonami wasted all their money doing promos and marathons for Naruto. Instead of dropping Naruto during the fillers, they kept trying to push Naruto to give them views they need. Basically, They was trying to suck every penny out of Naruto was their downfall.

Ohh.. Toonami doesn't show over in the UK? Well.. They are on a low budget atm. Hopefully if people continue to watch Toonami it will grow.

I thought Toonami got killed because it was old and they were repeating the same episodes again and again and they wanted to start the next generation of cartoons.

One would think, but no. It might have contributed a little, but not much. If you watch TV in general, you're going to see reruns.

Nah, Naruto wasn't killing it. (thats actually how I even found out Naruto exsisted lol). I know that much... there's no telling why it got shutdown for the while.. I say it was because they replaced it with more kid oriented shows..

I used to like watching DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam, etc on Toonami but Toonami plays too many damn replays rather than new episodes so once I discovered online episodes I never turned back. Otherwise I like plopping in front of my tv to watch more than watching on computers.
