Wouldn't an average konoha civilian get some jail time for this? But, since the Third Hokage knows Naruto personally, all Naruto had to do to get off the hook was clean the stone faces. So, while Naruto did get treated like s*it by the villagers, he did have his moments of getting special treatment in a good way.

He gets in ANBU's way, which Sakura implies that he's lucky to be alive.
He brings strange things into the village, animals and people, and is allowed to keep them.

There's a bunch of reasons why they treat him differently.
Because he's Jaraiya's apprentice
Because he's Tsunade's favorite
Because he's the villages Jin
Because he didn't have a team in the end of part 1
Because he lived alone
Because he's the main character and things would be boring otherwise.

I don't expect him to get slaughtered. It's just NV seems kind of cruel and stupid with their punishments, like killing missing nins, and labeling Sasuke an international criminal for wanting to kill a tyrant like Danzo. I think a fodder would have got a way different punishment than Naruto got.

This is true, still though, most ninja knew that he was on friendly terms with Sarutobi, you mess with him, you're pretty much bringing the Hokage's wrath on yourself, that might have helped, if you remember i think they were trying to convince Hiruzen that Naruto was bad and shit when he stole the forbidden scroll

If it were up to anyone but hiruzen naruto would of been exiled or killed by villagers/captured and experimented on higers up like oro or danzo way before he even had a chance to deface the kage monument

Special treatment from Hiruzen. If you read the first chapter in Naruto, I don't think it's shown in the anime, Naruto breaks in Hiruzen's house. Naruto got no punishment for this, we can assume any fodder would have been killed or at least get intel extracted from them as to why they broke in.

He was a child who was loathed by everyone from birth that he had no control over evne though his parents gave their lives for him and the village and hiruzen cutting him slack is special treatment ?


I highly doubt anyone else his age would of been punished severely anyway.
