Because it was never intended to be a series, it was always meant as a bridge between the end of Naruto and the start of the movie The Last.

I thought there was supposed to be an entire manga dedicated to Boruto. Was this it? Just a 10 chapter filler of Sarada? Disappointing... A manga about the child of the 2 least favorite characters, how wonderful.
