Yeah he needed more than 1/2 seconds to kill them all and it wasn't 50 I think it was around 70 or more. It doesn't make sense to me as well (thinking he killed a lot of ninjas in a blink of an eye) but I like to think he did and so the meaning "Flash" makes more sense to me. Hell yeah. lol

I think its possible, with his kunais spread through the enemies... I picture the scene would be like all the enemies are in a single line while he uses his speed to simply stretch his arms through the enemies throat and kill instantly... if you know what i mean.

So regardless if the enemies are scattered, for minato, its like he's just going to point A to B in a straight line where the enemies are in between. With his speed point A to B is like 1 sec for him... if you picture what i mean.

Yeah, sure rasengan takes at least 1 second. I think he wasn't using rasengan... was he? Stabbing takes a lot too. As was said above, he was like in many places at same time. Dont know how he killed those men.
If we use your point of view as the truth then it would take above 50 secs to kill 50 guys, 1 sec one death.

It's still uncertain if he already had rasengan during that time & contrary to your opinion I believe he did it in a blink of an eye. This is one of his amazing feats & the very reason why he was called the "Konoha's Yellow Flash".

I'm wondering why some people here viewed it differently, as if it's impossible to accomplish. If it really took him 30 sec to 2 mins as what many people here doubted then at least 20 - 30 shinobi had their way to escape or avoid the jutsu. Besides this is manga, far from real world, we can never compare the limits of what we can do to the fictional characters as well as to their abilities.

Do not take everything so literally all the time what the Manga says, if you blink then indeed Minato can be standing behind you, but there's no way he could've killed them in 1 second.

To be honest, I think "don't blink your eye or you'll miss everything," or whatever that guy said, was just a saying. I doubt Minato killed all of those men in less than or about in one second.

the bolded part: this is clearly a hint of how fast Minato can kill. If Minato was able to defeat Tobi in just a min, then it's possible to kill someone who can't make his/her body intangible so fast. get the point?

Killing 50 men in a blink of an eye. If we were to get the average time for Minato to kill a shinobi then it's around 6-8 millisecond.. Remember that FTG can't kill. It will just send him to where he wants to go. How can he kill a single shinobi in just 6-8 millisecond? Isn't this amazing? The speed our mind can think is about 200-300 millisecond. How come the 50th shinobi or the last one Minato killed was not able to defend himself? Here is my explanation:

The average time for Minato to kill a single shinobi was 6-8 millisecond. It means that the 50th person was able to think what happened after Minato killed 30. It will only take 120-160 millisecond for Minato to kill the remaining 20. Since our mind can think as fast as 200-300 millisecond then the 50th person was not able to counter the attack after realizing what happened.

To create a jutsu= mind( to think what jutsu to use) + molding of chakra + handseals. Can someone create a very fast jutsu below 120-160 millisecond? This is 120-160/1000 of a second.

Blink of an eye is only when it one on one, he cant be next to 50 enemies in the blink of an eye it impossible even for minato. It took longer because he had to teleport to each kunai and knife that one enemy then move to the next.
