I highly doubt Madara's brothers had any children. They were in an era of war where children rarely survived. Madara was the only one who was there in an era of Peace and had the highest potential of having a son/daughter. So the Uncle thingy is not feasible.

Another route could be that Madara's Father's Brothers/Sisters had children and Obito is from that lineage. But then the relationship gets too stretched.

In short, I highly doubt Madara had no children. Guess it's all up to Kishi. But I think Obito being Madara's Great Grandson or something strengthens the connection between both of them.
As he was one of the mightiest Uchiha, The people after him said to enhance their pride " I am the son of the great Madara Uchiha" where they weren't actual sons/daughters..

Unlike those people Obito had no reason to be prideful. His adverse shocked reaction is proof that Madara and him are blood related and he never expected Madara to be alive in the first place.

Plus, Kishi always connects the main villains. The blood relation wil strengthen that villain connection.

@ Bold Nobody did.
That isn't a perfect argument for what I said, It has perforations.

So you mean that Obito is a direct descendant of Madara ?

The manga has implied that indirectly. I will ask the timeline guy ISOKORPS and see whether it fits properly.

Ok, it's just an assumption, Kishi has not given much proof to back it up. But certain elements in the plot do support it.

Eh, that's not the Viz scan, it's Mangapanda, so what the characters are saying could be wrong cause it's not an official translation.

Still, See Obito's shocked reaction : He wouldn't have had such a reaction if Madara was not related to him by blood.

Then Obito goes on to say "My Ancestor Madara Uchiha !?"

Bold is proof enough that Obito and Madara are related by blood - A reason why Madara choose Obito as his successor ?

All of Madara's brothers died and they were never shown to have children. Even if they had children, they would have all died because of the war ravaged era taking many children's lives (Even Hashirama supported this idea).

Madara was the only one who survived the War Era and settled down in Konoha in a small period of Peace. He perhaps married a woman then and had a son or Daughter but later on abondended them in pursuit of the Moon Eye Plan.
What if Sasuke was Izuna's descendant though? Itachi proved that blood relation can result in wielding the same Mangekyo tech and Tobirama implied that he faced someone with Amaterasu which would logically be Izuna because there was no one else in his time with an MS.

Also, aren't the descendants of clan leaders the ones that inherit the leadership title ? Madara was head of Uchiha with Izuna being vice-head logically, so maybe his bro had a child that took over after Madz left Konoha and that child happened to be Sasuke's ancestor which explains why his father was head of clan and had high expectations for his children.
