Madara was the strongest character in the entirety of the series, clearly more powerful than even Kaguya if what she displayed is all she had. She could teleport through dimensions, he probably could've erased them if he put his mind to it. She was the worst way for him to go out, but, c'est la vie, that is the direction Kishimoto took things for some godforsaken reason.

I'm disappointed. We're now left with only Orochimaru and Sasuke as potential villains, but things are wrapping up really quickly, so it looks like Black Zetsu really was the final villain. What a weak way to go out. Maybe The Last will be better, I guess we'll see.
Kaguya was going to destroy a dimension big enough to hold a moon...

After 10 chapters of ****ing around, yes. Madara also by that point had ALL the chakra and could've done so if it ever came down to it. One big difference between Madara and Kaguya was that Madara didn't **** around, he was serious from the get go, while still never really being pushed to a point where he had to use every ounce of strength he had. He clearly knew what the Rinnegan was capable of, being his and all, and he was willing to use it.

Which is all probably why Kishi rushed to replace him. Couldn't figure out a right way to kill him on account of making him too strong. I think I remember him saying that once, that he didn't know how to kill Madara... hm...
