Did Konohamaru ever fight Naruto in the end?

I know about the chunin exam fight, but I'm asking that since Naruto and Konohamaru became rivals in part 1, if they had their fight at the end of Naruto like they promised for the title of Hokage.

Theres actually a OVA about this. I think Naruto participated in a chuunin exam and he lost bc he used sage mode and broke the rules like that or something.

As fas as I understand Naruto and, its branches-Boruto arc, it´s been stated Konohamaru´s dream is becoming the Hokage by following Naruto. Konohamaru acknowledged, Naruto´s dream and later on, Naruto´s power.


It could still be possible seeing a sort of rightful claim or even team-up. I´m aware Konohamaru feels more like an ok jounin leveled than anything close to a d rank character or kage, but he could get his chance, even maybe this whole new series end with him cloaked as kage and Boruto becoming even more bada22.




Note: It felt so right up to the fight against Pain at the time Konohamaru was disposing the Naraka path.

Naruto could send a Kage Bunshin with 1/1000th of his overall chakra and Konohamaru would still get bashed up.

Konohamaru won the match by technicality but also had the underdog respect of the crowd as he was fighting local hero celebrity SM Naruto at the time.

It was a good match to watch though, all of Konohamaru's are tbh.
