675 has one overlooked line from Madara...
Madara planned all of this. The attack on the leaf, the 9 tails escape, Uchiha clan massacre (for betraying him) and the wars. Orochimaru and possibly Kabuto were under his command. Safe bet something big is about to go down. I suspect Spiral Zetsu is *not* who we think it is.
Obito's original words in the Japanese script imply that Madara was physically controlling him, rather than "orders". This means that Obito might not have really had any choice in a lot of what he did... Meaning he was fighting Madara to some extent and wanted to become Juubi Jinch to stop Madara's plan (naturally Madara planned this part as well).
Why wasn't Madara doing anything in the fight for most of alliance vs. Obito? He was controlling Obito.
Why did Obito not resemble Tobi? Because it was Madara controlling him through the puppet jutsu his will left in Black Zetsu.
Why didn't Madara use PS or meteors on the alliance? He isn't in the fight, it's a clone.
How did Kakashi win vs. Obito? He didn't win, Obito threw the fight.
Why did Madara not take the fight seriously up until recently? He planned to take TB/Hashirama chakra all along. It's probably not even the real Madara
The real Madara is hiding or off-screen doing something else. Notice how he reformed his body? It's a clone. He was using his clone to fight Sasuke and Naruto, meanwhile had an ethereal version of himself fighting. We know that Madara faked his own death and convinced Hashi/Tobi he was gone. He trolled Hashirama and ended the fight in one blow, proving that Ashura < Indra for good.
The name Madara was properly feared throughout history because of what he represented: A genius with power beyond imagination, and an ability to manipulate others without fail. Madara's never been in real danger, because he's had Obito on a string the entire time.
Naruto getting Sage-powers is part of the plan to. Madara's ultimate plan is like Aizen's: Drag the God out. Show that it's a hypocrite. Defeat God, become God. Annihilate the Will of Fire. Force Hashirama/Sage to watch as the world of lies and hypocrisy they built falls apart. And in the end, that's what the world itself wished for by waging war on itself and accepting the convenient lie of the Eye of the Moon plan. Madara just gave humanity what it was asking for.
TL;DR: Just as planned. Madara's real aims are far and above the EOTM plan and go more towards dethroning/killing Sage directly. Madara's plan has been to just the Juubi to draw him out and then kill him. Then he'll eat the fruit and become God, and rule over a world of genjutsu as an omniscient super-god.
Yes, Madara's clone beat the Trollkage, nearly killed Sauce/Naruto and waged the better part of a war on its own. Why? Cause Madara Uchiha.
