Did Kishi troll Neji in order to make Naruto more interesting?

I watched some old Naruto episodes lately. And i realized what a great potential Neji actually has. In my opinion the Biyakugan is at least strong as the Sharigan and the Hyuga clan should be much stronger thanKishi actually shows them.
Everything in Naruto is Chakra based ==> if u can analyze+manipulate the enemies Chakra, it makes u extremely strong. Just for example Pain vs Konoha.... Hyugas can see chakra, right? So why doesnt Hinata or Neji just activate their eyes and track Nagatos actual position? Neji was one of the strongest Ninjas back then and Kakashi himself stated that the Hyuga and Uchiha are somehow related. (i know it was just a rumor, but why did Kishi make him say this?)
I think in Kishi's "beta-plot" The Hyugas should take the Senjus part. So it would be like Hyuga eyes+Sharingan=Rinnegan.
But this would make a complete other storyline and Naruto wouldnt be connected to Sasuke and the whole "Uchiha-curse". So i think Kishi changed his mind in Shippuuden, otherwise we would have 3 main characters and Naruto the only one without a special power. Otherwise i dont see the logic about the Hyuga hype in older episodes....

neji was known ot be very powerful which even hiruzen the third hokage saw his potential and said neji is the greatest student in konoha so he was recognize by even the hokage so he had potential.

remember hinata we haven's seen her alot but she has been able to do some dangerous techs like the twin lion fist that hit nagato so maybe neji training has a very powerful tech as well we just don't see him as much.

Interesting read. What if Neji had been like a third main character besides Naruto/Sasuke? Sakura is an embarassment of a third main character anyways.
Anyways, then instead of Naruto tnj:ing Nagato (Which I didn't think was bad like many do) they could have sent Neji as leader of an elite shinobi team to
actually track down the root of the paths (Nagato) and assassinate him. Naruto still would have been a hero, having defeated the paths.

He could introduce a better version of the Biyakugan like ms. I mean even the 2-3 techs we saw by Neji was quite impressive

I also think he is strong enough to give a good fight against Sasuke. But i dont understand why we dont see him anymore... we see team Chikamaru vs Kakuzu, vs Edo Asuma, srsly? Not a single Neji vs Akatsuki fight? this is really sad

Even if Kishi doesnt want him as a main character. He could at least show some new abilities. Introduce the Hyuga as descendant of so6p like Uzumaki. We already saw Gai fighting Kisame. It would also be interesting to see him instead of Gai. I mean could he go through Susanoo, since its formed with chakra? There are so many options Kishi has...

Kishi completely trolled my favorite character. All the hype about his genius, how he learned Hyuga jutsus all by himself etc... When I learned he was promoted jounin, I was so damned happy man. But Kishi went and let him be trapped by a dumb water prison.. What the ?! The body blow jutsu would've gotten him out in an instant but no... He stayed in it for minutes.. And that arc was most of his screen time in shippuden. Oh well, I still love Neji, just hope Kishi shows us some more of him and the Byakugan
