Did Kishi forget that Kaguya can absorb chakra-based attacks?

I was rereading chapter 684 and isn't that the reason why Naruto went to using taijutsu? Why can Naruto and Kakashi harm her with their chakra attacks later on? Seems like a plot hole.

Kishi nerfed her and all other top villains remember? Madara wasn't absorbing any ninjutsu as Juubi Jin, wasn't using Deva path, weapon path, summons and shared vision, wood jutsus, katon, any other elements like lava, boiling, ect... (He can use any element with his Rinnegan and only used storm once, he never used his Susanoo either. We see him use a Susanoo with 1 eye when Tobirama shot water needles at him pre- Juubi Jin.

I'm pretty sure it's this or she'd passively absorb naruto's cloak. Hence me asking.

Exactly, their is no indication that the ability is passive.

If it was, then Sakura should be dead because she would have had all her chakra absorbed when she touched kaguya.

Should it have been active when she was fighting? Why turn off all of a sudden? Why attack with chakra based attacks at all?

Madara absorbed Amaterasu immediately. Otherwise he would have had some serious burns.

Madara showed that Senjutsu can be absorbed and Naruto wouldn't have resorted to taijutsu if that was the case. Sakura's "super strength" is really her just releasing chakra from her fist, like body flicker does with the feet and that's ninjutsu.

He used Kamui Raikiri. It has the same effect as the Kamui Shuriken.

If you notice, the Raikiri was black.

The Raikiri was black due to the Six Path Chakra. Sasuke did the something when he fought Madara.
