Did Itachis sickness affect his stamina/chakra?

Seems to be a common misconception that it did. I'd like the manga facts where this was said, mentioned, or implied if someone will be kind and find them for me. Thanks.

It certainly did affect his chakra reserves. The Uchiha clan has been stated to be great at warfare because of their large chakra reserves + Sharingan in the Manga. However, itachi's chakra reserves are low. This could mean that the lung disease affected his chakra. I don't know about his stamina but I believe that lung disease would also affected your stamina tremendously.

There is no evidence his illness affected his reserves/stamina. But it did affect his chakra control, due to all the pain he was in. You can see it from the time he coughed and held his chest. His susanoo faltered.

Its actually common sense... If you have ever been sick, you would notice that you aren't as energetic as you are when you are healthy, to the point of things that used to be mere child's play to perform become a struggle (even things like moving)... In fact I am always amazed that Itachi could even fight the way he did given that his illness was much worse than anything I have experienced

They didn't have large chakra reserves, their reserves were average. But, their chakra was extremely potent

No. It literally says in the manga that Uchiha had strong chakra reserves that made them adept for war.

Strong and large are different terms buddy.
Their chakra were potent but they never had large chakra reserves.

While senjus and uzumakis have large large chakra reserves E.g. Tobirama, hashirama,kushina and naruto

i agree that it disrupts chakra control due to use of susanoo. It's like knowing you can run a mile but fall short half way. So in a way it does affect the users physical stamina. Itachi would then of course try his best to hide his biggest weakness. pretty sad at the same time

I don't think so. Look at Nagato for example. His body was wrecked but he still managed to have enough energy to live, animate 6 dead bodies and have each body use ninjutsu.

Kimmimaro, likewise was plagued by illness, and it only affected his physical combat ability. Same with Oro when Sasuke killed him.


Itachi just has low stamina, like the DB states.

You know what, I just went through Itachi's wiki page again and couldn't find any mention of his illness affecting his chakra reserve. Though it did say he had low stamina, strong chakra and good speed but couldn't continue a fight for a long time due to his low stamina. But no mention of chakra whatsoever.

I would say he's always had low stamina. Even before his sickness occurred Kisame mentioned that certain MS techniques obviously took a toll.

you guys need to read the title of this thread. has nothing to do with chakra RESERVES. just get to the point. alot of characters can push through with sheer will. but in itachi's case this illness did affect his stamina and focus to use his chakra. even if it becomes an unwritten fact of how things happened its kind of a no brainer.

dont compare MS to rinnegan users. Nagato did not have the same illness nor was he from UCHIHA. and Itachi is NOT from Senju

The diagnosis is irrelevant. Point of the thread is whether his chakra was lower because of it and not one piece of evidence has been presented saying so. All I see is hearsay, and speculation so it stands, Itachis stamina is shit with or without sickness.
