did itachi use tsukyomi against nagato?

in the fight a gainst nagato, itachi used susanoo, but i did not see him use tsukyomi, which is a requirement, and if he used tsukyomi then does that mean nagato is immune against popular belief?

itachi uses genjutsu at the start of every fight we have seen him in he didnt now because the rinnegan is stronger dojutsu and probably immune

OK no, he didn't use Tsukuyomy, and why would he? Even if he would be able to free Nagato it would be only for a limited time... and Who knows, maybe eye genjutsu doesn't work on the Rinnegan.
Second you must have both Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi in order to achieve Susanoo, you don't have to use them every time...
