Hello guys and guyettes. Just quickly note I may be wrong about all accounts as my memory is garbage. Hopefully this is right though.

We all know Itachi solos on a physical level. BUT, he also solos on an emotional level. First let's go back in time quickly to Indra VS Ashura and Madara VS Hashirama.

------------------------------------
-Indra & Ashura-

Black Zetsu manipulated Indra which resulted in Indra and Ashura fighting. Each gave birth to a clan. Indra: Uchiha, Ashura: Senju. Each clan inherited the founders feelings and thoughts. Some... more than others. Some did not at all.

Uchiha was the "bad" side in a way. They were the most loving but as soon as they lose what's close to them, the decide that they want to solo the world. Not all though, but the most important figures in Naruto did.

When both died, their chakra was passed down to a random person. And now, we go to Madara & Hashirama.
------------------------------------
-Madara & Hashirama-

Madara had Indra's chakra, Hashirama had Ashura's chakra. In order for this hate cycle to continue, the Uchiha must have the MS, and most importantly, Black Zetsu. Why? Well he manipulated Indra, then made the false Uchiha Stone Tablet to continue to manipulate more Uchiha to find "the one".

The hate cycle was here, and continued on to Sasuke & Naruto.
-------------------------------------
-Sasuke & Naruto ft. Itachi-

The hate cycle yet again continued. BUT, Black Zetsu did not associate with Sasuke as far as we know. Obito was basically assuming the role of BZ to try to corrupt Sasuke even more to become the next Pain.

IF Obito did not tell Sasuke the truth about Itachi, he would have probably lived a better life. F*** you Obito you're not the coolest guy.

Itachi with his words and feelings started to stray Sasuke from his path. The Hokages and Naruto just gave him an extra push but if it wasn't for Itachi, Sasuke would ignore talk no jutsu and he probably would have destroyed the Leaf. Also, Itachi was a big push for Sasuke to create "Revolution" but that's because Sasuke mistook Itachi's words. Then, once Sasuke & Naruto die, the hate cycle will continue.
--------------------------------------
-Conclusion-

Basically if Itachi didn't talk to Sasuke in edo form, he would have fallen to Obito's BZ mind control tactics, which would have resulted in a horrible outcome.

Without Itachi, Kaguya could not have been sealed. Without Itachi, Infinite Tsukyomi would most likely be eternal. Without Itachi, the Leaf might be destoryed. & lastly but certainly not least, without Itachi, the Ashura & Indra cycle would continue.

I'll quickly wrap this up to avoid long rereads.
--------------------------------------
-Wrap Up-

Sasuke might not have been strayed from his path by Naruto alone. I strongly believe Itachi ended the Indra & Ashura hate cycle.

REMEMBER, THIS IS OPINION BASED! Feel free to comment I'm curious to see if I'm right, wrong, or people have a different theory! :)

Naruto was the one who ended the cycle of hatred. He helped Sasuke open up and that really brought out who he really was. If anything Itachi made it extremely personal to Sasuke and made him go to the extremes to ensure that no one had to live through what he did.

> Naruto never hated Sasuke

> We don't know if Ashura hated Indra

The Uchiha were the ones causing trouble Lol

But it was the Senju and the village who screwed their clan out of their share and drove them to the outskirts of the village. No one's innocent.
Pretty sure the manga said it was 14 year old Obito attacking the village with Kurama that led to the isolation of the Uchiha and ultimately their execution.

Ultimately, it was Naruto who ended the cycle of hatred, by being able to finally reach out to Sasuke in 698.

However, Itachi did have a huge influence on Naruto and Sasuke, and guided them both on the right path, which to a certain extent set the stage for the Curse of Hatred to be broken
