All of this information that jiraiya got with to orochimaru's whereabouts to akatsuki's did the third shared his information to jiraiya? I mean who else he can trust with? Right? So its safe to say he did, but how about when the third died? I think that itachi being the captain of the anbu really help out who he can trust with this information, i think itachi shared his information not from any anbu black ops nor even danzo but directly to jiraiya thats why jiraiya knew the leader would be in the rain village perhaps itachi already shared his information to the leaf that akatsuki would target naruto and the best way to protect him and thentailed beast was with jiraiya and of course itachi's not entirely sure if jiraiya could beat him nor how the leaf would act but because of this pain's power was revealed that ultimately led him to his defeat all im saying is the information and jiraiya's death was not a waste because jiraiya knew and the others from leaf that someday the akatsuki would attack the leaf and this information is a must.
