I'm pretty sure he's smart enough to conjure a plan to stall Kakashi or someshit, as long as he's aware of that and time preparation. He's always prepared with a backup plan, like how he owned Danzo with a Genjutsu. And even after that when Sasuke was near-blind and in a weakened state after that fight, he could still keep up with Kakashi's speed feats and could not be defeated.

He used his weak genjutsu cleverly, but it's still a weak genjutsu.

Kakashi matches Obito in genjutsu, while all you have to offer for Sasuke's cause is countering Itachi's genjutsu who was only pretending to be fighting for real.
