I ask this due to the long unanswered question of why did the 2th hokage developed Edo Tensei in the first place?
What if they actually did revive the Sage not knowing it required a sacrifice? Hashirama who was in a weak state of all the wars he've fought sacrificed himself to revive the Sage as a last good deed
Hashirama dies and the Sage gets revived.
The Sage informs Tobirama with the story of his own death, that the Elder brother(The Uchiha) only seeks peace through power.
