I agree it resembles more of a spirit bomb as it gathers energy from its surroundings where as the original kamehameha seems to fire all of the energy from kakarot's palms.

I just don't like how its inconsistent from the movie

This. I wasn't sure if I was the only one who made that connection. They've tweaked Goku's power greatly if this is the case.

It was pretty damn good. They changed some stuff from the movie for the better. Beerus is way more of a sinister bad ass. When they do the next episode it should follow the manga fight, which is epic!
