Did Gaara know Ichibi's real name?

I think so but I'm not sure about the whole friend thing. I think he was told the name by either his father or other elders about the demon that lived in him and he learned to use some of its power.

Everyone knew the name Shukaku the sand demon. I mean in part one, we didn't technically know it was bijuu and there were nine of them.

Gaara never came to terms with the Shukaku, it laid dormant in him until it was extracted by the akatsuki.
