did crocodile get trolled?

just started to watch OP and i just finished up croc vs luffy fight... i kinda think that croc got trolled because he essentially killed luffy like 3 times, i'm not mad our anything.... i know the good guys always win but i kinda felt like croc got trolled a little bit.... your thoughts?

yea but in the anime he was saved by robin, a huge water bubble precisely fell on him, and i think something else happened...lol to the second partxd, luffy was getting pretty pissed

personally usopp taking 4-ton bats to the head repeatedly vs mr 4 and nami's fight vs ms doublefinger were much more of a save though. they were clearly out of their league and were saved by plot, no other explanation.

sort of xD don't want to say how though as it's a big spoiler and it will ruin it for you. you'll probably grow to like usopp though, many people like me don't like him and nami at first.

Nah, it would have been trolling if Luffy won directly from the start. At least now it was shown that Luffy was seriously lucky and that he just didn't won because he was stronger.

It was needed to show that even if Luffy was to fight a completely one-sided battle, and lose, several time, it would not affect his desire to beat the crap outta him and that he wouldn't lose hope that easily. It wasn't really shown earlier in the series, all the battles up to that point have shown that he has a lot of willpower, but none of the fight have really been as one-sided as Luffy vs Croc. It just really shows that he is a genius when it comes to fighting and that he will adapt easily.
