honestly, this gave me new insight into how the uchiha rebellion situation affected him on a personal level, all the other testimony weve seen about it from tobi/danzo/sasuke just didnt have that emotional strain involved, yes how sasuke viewed it was tragic, but tragic sh*t happens on the daily in naruto-verse, but what itachi had to do, what he choose to do, went above and beyond the call of duty, and the fact that we literally watched his emotions dying as he killed his parents while they gave him praise and accepted the path he choose only makes me appreciate his character more

That isn't him crying after he killed his parents. He was crying after attempting to leave the village and his brother attacked him. That is one flaw in the story, a minor one at that, Itachi wasn't shown crying when Sasuke entered the room. Obviously, it doesn't really matter.
