Brook says "A picture doesn't do his presence justice" How would he know if he hadn't met him and experienced his presence? Maybe back before he was a pirate and he was with that countries military? Though I'm not sure that works cus' I thought Brook said it'd been 50 years since he died and Dragon doesn't seem that old so idk.

That's what I'm asking do people think he knew him before Rumbar pirates, with the Rumbar Pirates or did he meet him during the break or not at all? His words imply he's met him. Meeting him in that 2 years seems unlikely though, he was with Luffy until the split at Sabaody and then he went for his Kuma training. Not saying he couldn't have but Idk when he would have since he was doing tours and stuff, unless his promoters booked a show for the revs.

He doesn't have to have met him, he just needs to have caught up to the world's affaires. When it was explained who Dragon was, nearly the entire Strawhat crew was dumbfounded and shocked as they almost all knew exactly what kind of guy he was despite the fact we had no clue. If Brook has been paying attention and following the news the past two years, that would be enough for him to have that kind of reaction. That he met him before he got trapped in the Florian Triangle, is plainly impossible. For that to have occurred, Dragon should be as old as WB.

I thought Brook said he had been there for 50 years but wasn't sure of the time frame, I mentioned that already. Also Brook says a picture doesn't do his presence justice as if he's experienced his presence before firsthand and for Brook to just pop up and say it while Nami's already in discussion about Dragon seems random if not meant to imply a familiarity.

WB would have been 74 if he was still alive, so Garp being the same age seems about right. Brook started his long stretch 52 years ago, so at the time, Garp would have been 22. It's physically impossible for Dragon and Brook to have known each other before.
They could have met while Brook was touring, but I don't see why them meeting would be a major twist.

Also, there is no uncertainty about Brook's age. He was 38 when he died and he's 90 now.

It wouldn't be any kind of a twist really I was just curious why Brook said something like that if he's never felt his presence personally before. The word choice sounded like it was trying to insinuate Brook has seen Dragon in person.
