Did Bake die?

Whatever happened to Bake (sand sibling sensei)? We haven't seen him since early on in shippuden, and he isn't present at the war. If i remember right, when he killed the procter during the chunin exams, Yugao (the procter's purple haired girlfriend) vowed vengeance on him. Do you think she did a little behind the scenes ninja assassin work while nobody was looking, or what? Or do you think kishi simply forgot the guy existed?
