Hmm does it have anything to do with Naruto's natural chakra color? I get the fact that he now has the darker Kurama chakra (the one Minato was using in your posted picture), but does naruto's naturally yellow chakra signature trump that? We know the real Rasengan color is yellow and that Naruto's 'aura' is yellow, so maybe it coats the Kurama mode accordingly?

uhm... that's not how it works. yin and yang don't represent good and bad specifically. You can't turn a being made of yin chakra into one made of yang. The two karama's are two parts of a whole.

As far as the avatar color, it has to match his rikodu mode cloak color. It's a style choice by the artist not a coloring mistake as some say.

its probably because of edo-tensei. meaning, minato being edo made the avatar look darker i guess.
