Did Anyone expect Boruto Shippuden?

From the very first chapter we saw Boruto at age 16(Same as Naruto in shippuden)

Did u guys expect to the new generation to have stories in that age? Now we're gonna have all new generation characters as 16 year olds .

I didn't expect that at all i thought the story of Boruto will remain at 12 years old . But oh well can't wait to see the other character's design . Especially Sarada and Mitsuki

It's gonna probably be around the time of when oro will try to find his new host body....if he still use his jutsu...but I think it's all gonna be in one series...I doubt they're gonna do another show because the new generation got older...you know it's just pointless...

There will undoubtedly be a timeskip if that's what you mean, as (as you mentioned) the manga/anime opens with a glimpse at the future and judging from the character designs it appears to be several years past where the manga is now and even further into the future compared to where the anime is currently set in the timeline. The real question is how long will this manga continue on for—I can't possibly imagine Kishimoto having the energy to supervise the manga for another 10+ years and I doubt the new illustrator wants this to last as long as it's predecessor. I think what we saw in the first chapter was very much around where the story will end; not exactly the ending, but around there is where I believe things will start wrapping up. 1 timeskip for the manga, and about 2 timeskips for the anime is my guess.
