Both have great one shot potential but are also easy to kill. Kamui GG and Hirudora GG are both viable. Gai could most likely dodge in the 7th gate but Kakashi could use kamui to get rid of Hirudora at the cost of his chakra reserves. Would be a great fight especially considering they are rivals.

Hirudora isn't even Kakashi's main issue. His main issue is speed that he can't physically follow. Gai has the very clear and almost undeniable advantage in a 1 on 1 fight between the two.

OT: Most even match for Kakashi would probably be MS Sasuke, SM Naruto or 6G Gai if a wide scaled Hirudora is enough to block AoE.

Not really. Unless Kakashi himself starts with Kamui right off the bat the issue of Gai's speed once he enters the 7th Gate becomes an obstacle Kakashi most likely won't overcome.
