Distance: Kakashi's team knows that Pain is coming forward, and so does Pain know about the former. They'll encounter each other the same way KCM Naruto and Rinnegan Tobi did. ( without headbutt ) So, let's say, 50m.
Mindset: In-Character, Team Kakashi is prepared for the fight and has a plan.
Intel: Team Kakashi has full intel on paths' abilities except for Deva's Chibaku Tensei. Pain also has full intel on all 4 of them, but he doesn't know that Kakashi has Kamui and is not prepared for Ino's Mind Clone Switch Technique and Mind Body Disturbance Technique. However, he has intel on Shikamaru's shadow possession technique.
Restrictions: Deva Path won't be able to use CT, Almighty Push and Universall Pull until any 2 paths get taken down. Pain will protect Preta at all costs. Kakashi's Team, though, doesn't know about this restriction. Kakashi won't use Kamui right from the start of the battle. Only for extreme need.
