Shouto stood before the Tsuchikage, who had called him out here to bestow Leg Weights onto him that would surely aid his prowess in battle. Following the Tsuchikage's words Shouto spoke. "Thank you, Kyudaime. As for my knowledge on the weights, they are tools used to strengthen one's legs. Although quite heavy at first, when worn for a period of time one gets used to their weight and becomes able to move as well as they could before they first put them on. Then, when one used to the weights takes them off the difference in weight greatly enhances their running speed while in turn also allowing them to deliver more powerful kicks." |
"Thank y-.. ugh!" before Shouto could even finish he would feel the kick connecting with his back, he let his guard down as he had not expected the training to take this turn. "You caught me with my guard down" Shouto straightened his stance while wiping his lower left arm across his mouth before taking on his stance. "Here I come!" Shouto slides forward across the sand, maintaining his stance with his left foot before his right and his left hand extended while his right hand rests by his waist. As soon as he entered the desired range Shouto slides his left foot further forward while pushing himself up on it, rotating his body 180 degrees in a counter-clockwise fashion with his right leg risen with a bent knee and his right arm shooting forward to deliver a straight punch into the Tsuchikage's chin. Shouto's rotation allowed him to extend his reach at a great speed. Almost simultaneously to the punch Shouto drops his right leg to deliver a low lateral kick against Feitan's left kneecap followed by Shouto setting his right foot down while raising his left to deliver a final horizontal kick from left to right to strike Feitan's right side aimed at his abdomen. |
With his right leg still risen Shouto was able to quickly adapt to Feitan's counter. While planting his right leg on the ground towards his right Shouto, at the same time, sways his upper body to the right as well while sliding his left foot across the ground to line up with his right through a counter-clockwise motion. This would result in Shouto avoiding Feitan's strike, albeit just barely while Shouto's positioning would make it easy for him to deal with Feitan's attempt to throw him off balance as he would simply slide his right foot further forward. During this exchange Shouto brings forth his free left hand to grab hold of Feitan's extended wrist and taking advantage of Feitan's airborne position Shouto pulls him towards the left in an overhead throw-like motion to cause Feitan to fall on the ground to Shouto's left. |
Nodding to acknowledge Feitan's instructions Shouto walked over to the leg weights, grabbing one of them with his right hand. They sure are heavy, is what he thought as Shouto removes his boots and proceeds with strapping the weights in place, one on each of his legs. With his legs weighed down Shouto immediately felt his movements being inhibited, only being capable of taking small steps at first as though shuffling his feet. Following up Shouto slowly approaches a nearby rock but before placing it on the dangerously sharp spikes he attempted to balance on his hands on the ground. After much trial and error Shouto finally succeeds in maintaining his balance on the ground and proceeds to place a rock on the spikes, attempting to balance on it in an upside down position. At first Shouto only managed to maintain his balance for a short period of time, hopping off the stone before he would meet his imminent demise were he to fall on the spikes and through the days and weeks that followed Shouto would gradually improve at maintaining his balance as he balanced on the spikes-.. for a total of twelve hours daily. |
