Hey kids.

I'm nowhere near as active as I was back during the Minato/Itachi flame wars but I had an interesting thought that merited my coming back to the forum.

It's been said that Japanese culture was heavily influenced by the dropping of the atom bomb during WWII. It's shown in cinema that radiation creates monsters in Japan whereas in America it creates Heroes. That being said, it would seem Pein's attack on Konoha almost mirrors the destruction of Hiroshima in scale and nature.

Konoha is destroyed almost instantly by a violent shockwave that instantly kills everyone.

Coincidence? What do you guys think?

What's even more creepy is a "Nagasaki Arch" that survived both bomb blasts. This has since been confirmed to be a hoax, nevertheless, these are the exact same arches used in the sealing jutsu used by Hashirama. Naruto, sharing reincarnation paths with Hashirama via Ashura survives these "blasts". Totally coincidental, but still interesting.

Yea it's probably related, Naruto is filled with Japanese mythology and culture so it wouldn't surprise me.
