You are actually crazy, you know that? It doesn't stand the test of time. It's dated as f*ck and there are so many better modern animes which do what DBZ wanted to do but better. The only reason it was big in the West was because it struck at a time where this thing was new and now the only people who protect and preach it now are nostalgia***s gripping onto their childhoods and crazy people. DBZ is a show with a target audience made up of young children and mentally handicapped people.

I refuse to "respect" an anime and treasure it like some golden beacon when it has a main villain taken seriously with a design like this:

Mix that in with ridiculous charging, OTT nature (but in a bad way), awful character design, bad animation style, OP unrelatable characters, non-existent plot, repetitiveness, no stakes because people can just come back to life and all together you have a far less than average anime. I'm not a DBZ hater, i'm a hater of it's gross fanbase. And please, you're wayyyy overestimating the importance of DBZ. it wasn't the first, it won't be the last and it's certainly not the best. Gundam and Astro Boy spit of DBZ, if you really want to go far into animation history you'll see just how insignificant DBZ really is.

And yet you can't explain why. I think even Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann actually can beat Bills?

No, you just don't respect DBZ and have no clue on what the series had done. Of course DBZ wasn't the first, but it was the Anime/Manga that revolutionised the Anime world to new heights. It's impact and what the series accomplished far surpasses any other Anime/Manga that came before or after it. That's why DBZ is the father of all Anime.
The only Anime/Manga that's actually surpassed DBZ on something is One Piece, beating it in Manga sales in Japan.

The proof is in the pudding, watch the Movie and you will realise the frightening power of Lord Bills; The God of Destruction. You wouldn't need an explanation on why Bills would win, all you would say is "Bills solos" and that would be enough.

Sorry but you're wrong. Of course it stands the test of time because the franchise is still going strong TILL THIS DAY! Dragon Ball came out in 1984 and its still going strong today! That's over 20 years and the franchise is still alive! Do you have any idea how incredible that feat is? I guess not! Has any other Anime/Manga accomplished this incredible feat? You have no right to tell people what they should and shouldn't enjoy. I haven't said a thing about Akria Toriyama, his work isn't all that great to me but Kishimoto does enjoy it. That's what we call in this world a 'differing opinion' I really think you should look this term up because it's quite a big deal. You are short-sighted and cannot see the huge diversity of amazing manga and anime that came before and after DBZ totally unrelated, you're in your own little world so you have no right to say I have no clue whatsoever, I think you should try watch something without flying little gorilla men for a change before you go making sweeping statements about the history and culture of animation.

This literally insults me. The only thing I gained from learning that it's been going for 20 years is that it just doesn't know when to give up and die. The storyline gets outdated and reused by the second arc, and little kids want that over and over? for 20 years? Seriously- kids cartoons have recycling story arcs as restricting as this. I actually think Tom and Jerry and Pokemon are more diverse. The argument for the validity of DBZ disintegrates the second you see an actual clip from it.

But above all else, the only real thing that pisses me off about DBZ is the annoying flies like you who feel the need to smother it down people's throats.
