I'm looking for a new type of manga than what I normally read like One Punch Man, One Piece etc. I would like some depressing, tragic manga. Where it's very bleak and dull, tragedy after tragedy after tragedy. Where you feel like you can reach for hope of something positive but you know nothing is there. Where the story is very heavy and not something you would necessarily read for fun but for the sake of the story itself, something that draws me into it.

Not exactly meaning full of death and gore, but maybe an mc whos life is full of left turns and no wins but both are welcome.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Could I get a little backstory on these?

That would be spoiling the manga. I can give you the synopsis of it.

Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan;

"I have something I don't want to lose."

"So much so that these terrible feelings have grown."

A pianist who attempted suicide 3 times, Juri, is taken to help her aunt at a prison where murderers who killed indiscriminately are sentenced to death. There, she meets a man named Yuu who took the lives of 3 people. A mother's antagonism. A brother's death. Together they embrace the violent rebellion in their hearts caused by the large, deep scars they carry. However, before long, they both embrace an earnest hope in their hearts.

"I want to live..."

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Onikakushi-hen;

After moving into the quiet town of Hinamizawa, Maebara Keiichi spends his days blissfully in school often playing games with his local friends. However, appearances can be deceiving. One fateful day, Keiichi stumbles upon news of a murder that had occurred in Hinamizawa. From this point on, horrific events unfold in front of Keiichi, as he soon learns his close friends may not be all that they seem.

Ode to Kirihito? It's pretty depressing and humorless.
