For those that first meet Deng, one would believe him to be an incredibly cute, courteous, and warm young boy; and, it’s probably due to his infant like appearance. He would act bashful; too shy to come forward and ask for help that he needs. Deng acts so weak that it's a wonder how he managed to become a genin in the first place. However, do not be fooled by this behavior. That is not the real Deng. That is merely an act to coerce some sorry person to do his duties for him while he skives off to play around, nap, or eat. In any case, Deng can be described as the laziest ninja in the entire world!
Thus, Deng is an incredibly relaxed person. Hardly anything fazes him and he goes about things without any fear. He is never surprised nor is he ever truly frightened. In fact, one would come to believe that he's rather oblivious with common societal norms. Perhaps Deng is too relaxed. After all, Deng hardly wants to do any work and would rather have someone else do it for him; which comes to another facet of his personality. Deng is highly manipulative and knows how to have others do his bidding. Whether it is by acting cute or blackmailing the person, he would stop at nothing to make sure that that person does as he commands.
Another thing about Deng is his tendency to constantly snarl about every little thing he comes across that he dislikes. He will make his opinion known through a sarcastic remark or snide comment. However, he speaks in such a deadpan manner that one wonders which words were the truth and the others the sarcasm. Despite the rather negative aspects that concern him, Deng is anything but a bad person. He's actually quite nice beneath it all. He's incredibly welcoming to those that he first meets and is known to be a good friend and listener. Deng is a little mischievous as well, having more than once prank several other peers throughout the academy of Iwagakure.
Surprisingly, Deng is not really the idiot that he makes himself out to be. In fact, Deng is actually quite the perceptive individual. Often times he is quick to catch on to what's going on around him; a trait that served its use both in combat situations and socializing events. Add in to how cunning he can truly be, Deng could very well be a dangerous opponent anyone has to face.

Deng's current appearance is that of an infant always dressed in a refined manner. Therefore, he is frequently mistaken for a toddler because of birth deficiencies. Nevertheless, in his chibi form he still dons formal attire by wearing a yellow long sleeved polo underneath instead of the normal white. This wardrobe also consists of a black fedora with a thick orange stripe running across the sides of the cone. This hat is worn to hide his usually messy hair and incredible lengthy sideburns.
However, that is a form he usually dons for fun (by using Henge) and other reasons unknown to even himself. His true form is that of a young man with an oiled-up and slicked-back hairstyle. And, accompanied clothing; a long-sleeved, white shirt which is topped by a peak vest with various markings and designs spread across it. The same design is repeated on both the left and right side of his vest along with his belt. And lastly, he wears black pants with large bell bottoms and once again sports similar designs on the hemlines.

Background Info.
History:
Deng Kyōkaen was born as the last remaining son of his once enormous family; a once powerful group of individuals that recently fell into decline. His father was now a simple rice farmer who no longer practiced the way of the warrior. And unfortunately, his mother had died in childbirth giving him life. For a time, it was a relatively peaceful life as Deng helped his father with the work as soon as he was able to walk. Being the only family they had, the two of them cared for one another despite the hardships they faced together. Despite having fallen from grace, Deng father still held pride in his family's martial arts and passed on the tradition to Deng when he was old enough. It was a way the two bonded and he often remembers his early childhood memories as training sessions with his father.
Life was hard for afterwards. He was, indeed, born an Kyōkaen and one with a driving force to be the best. However, as he grew up and this attitude came to be seen by others, he was mercilessly tormented and picked on for it, since no one thought that his family would one day be able to become powerful ninja yet again. Deng was initially very sad from the entire put downs, but his father’s teachings reminded him how it had happened to them as well And, that the best method of achieving happiness was to forgive and move on; but, with the knowledge that he was something special.
It didn't take long for Deng to become an amateur with his family's fighting style, much to the amazement of his father. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when his father died from illness when he was six, merely months after his advancement. Deng was now all alone in the world, living in only a decrepit shack that was his home and the small rice fields his father bought with the last of the family's money to grow crops. Little by little, he sold off the land and worked on his remaining rice fields for sustenance instead of profit. Deng was an wise child despite his age, thus he knew that farming wouldn't sustain him for long. He began attending the ninja academy, saving enough rice to sell in order to gain admittance. Tragically, life at the academy proved to be some of the hardest times for Deng. While Deng was not the dumbest mind in the class, he worked hard to try and grasp some of the material presented. He went insane as he saw how some of the other geniuses in the class were getting things so much easier than he was not, nor not necessarily well with pen and paper; his taijutsu was above average. Thanks to his father.
Nevertheless, Deng worked hard in order to be acknowledged, performing rather well in the strength and agility portion in his lessons. Through sheer perseverance, Deng managed to graduate from the academy three year late; because of self-harboring doubts he had about life afterwards, therefore not having made any notable merits. To the eyes of his teachers, he was just a mere grunt. However, it was when he was at home and not tilling the fields that he truly trained. He continued to practice his family's fighting style while combining the jutsus that he learned from the academy along with it.
