For any of you that haven't read this series so far I recommend it, it's not doing anything new but so far it's kept my interest, series pretty much a supernatural survival death match game
Okay now to this chapter I think I get that masked guys aim is I think he use to be a human as well and he aligned himself with Carlos to use him so he can win the demons plan. It's unclear to the full extent of his powers buy he can at least create portals. There might be more to what the demons plan is than just a wish, this is just a guess but I'm guessing the goal is to summon a real demon or demons take control of the world.
With this chapter it's adding a more strategy element to the series as the main character has to build a party to win his fights
